This week we bring you an interview with black belt Michael Jen. Michael started Jiu-Jitsu in 1991 and earned his black belt from Joe Moreira. Michael is well known for his scientific approach to Jiu-JItsu and he has a new BJJ book out called The Science of Submission: A Principle-Based Approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Quote of the week: “One day I was shopping I went into a store that had cool swords. I told the guy do you have any Katana’s, as I always wanted one. He said of course, sold me one, and told me be very careful, it can cut a car. As soon as I got home I took the sword out and hit a tree, the sword broke. I got super upset, went back to the store and said man, you sold me a faulty sword, it couldn’t even cut a plant.
